Paradox Interactive has unveiled an all-new city building simulator game, Cities: Skylines, during Gamescom 2014. Set to release in 2015 for PC, this game seems to have set its sights square on gamers that we’re disappointed with EA’s most recent entry in the Sim City franchise.
Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order invite players to create the cities of their dreams in Cities: Skylines, a massive city simulator from the creators of the Cities in Motion series.
Vast backdrops and maps provide players with countless ways to improve and expand their cities, building from humble beginnings up to beautiful, cloud-hugging structures and unique architectural marvels.
Fans of Paradox’s previous transit sims Cities in Motion and Cities in Motion 2 might not be entirely surprised by today’s reveal, as the technology behind Cities in Motion 2 was just begging to have a fully fleshed-out city builder made out of it. Despite being alpha footage, Cities: Skylines trailer shows off a good number of features that Sim City still doesn’t have.
