While Command & Conquer might not be quite as popular these days, there’s still an active online community behind the games that make up the series. With the shutdown of Gamespy’s servers, the series was seemingly dealt a deathblow in the form of a total loss of online support. Although EA had stated that they wanted to look into other options, nothing has materialized to date.
In response to the Gamespy shutdown, Revora has unveiled their own dedicated servers for all 5 Command & Conquer games called C&C:Online. With a small download and simple install process, fans of the series will be able to participate in all sorts of online battle well into the future.
C&C:Online is a community-made- and managed online server for Generals, Zero Hour, C&C 3, Kane’s Wrath, and Red Alert 3, allowing you to log in and continue playing online just like you could when GameSpy’s servers were still online.
Playing on our server is absolutely free, but donations to our server are always welcome and needed. Your donations go directly towards server maintenance and improvements to the C&C:Online infrastructure.
If you’d like to download C&C:Online, head over to their website at http://cnc-online.net/.
