Yesterday’s news of Euro Truck Simulator developer Tomáš Duda being banned from Steam caused quite a stir among gaming communities on Reddit, Steam, and NeoGAF. A movement was even started on SteamDB to bring additional attention to the issue. After suffering through a rough 24 hours, it seems that access has been restored to both Duda’s Steam account and Steamworks.
Duda, aka Timmy, set up a website for concerned followers to keep up to date on his account status. The internet got it’s seemingly final update a few hours ago via Twitter and his website. The answer to the question “Is Timmy still banned?” is a resounding “No.”
With the Steam Summer Sale possibly less than 2 days away, a community backlash of any type is probably not something Valve wants to be dealing with. While an impending sale most likely isn’t the reason for his ban being reversed, it surely can’t hurt Valve to have positive PR on their side leading up to a big sale.
You can keep up on any further developments by following Duda on twitter at @tomasduda.
