Codemasters’ upcoming Formula 1 racing game, F1 2014, is gearing up for a October 21st release. The team is taking a break from tinkering under the hood to bring us a brand new trailer featuring a hot lap of Bahrain.
In addition, Codemasters took to their blog earlier in August to outline their plans for future next-gen F1 games utilizing a brand new engine.
Why are you not making a next gen F1 game?
We are making a next gen game! And most importantly we’re writing a brand new engine to go with it. The entire game experience is being re-engineered from the ground up and that’s why it wasn’t possible to release this year. Rest assured though, in addition to improvements in the physics, AI, and graphics, the game will launch much earlier in the Formula One season, and will then go onto receive a number of digital updates throughout the year! Read more about it here…
Despite a next-gen title in the worst, Codemasters aren’t just releasing F1 2014 as a slight refresh over F1 2013. Instead, F1 2014 will feature plenty of new features including new tracks, and the introduction of turbo charged engines. Be sure to check out today’s trailer with the volume on to get the full effect of that glorious forced induction.
Featuring all of the circuits from the 2014 calendar, Bahrain’s debut as a night race, featuring its full day / night transition, is just one of the circuit changes for this year’s game, alongside the return of the Hockenheimring and the debut of two new circuits – Russia’s Sochi Autodrom and Austria’s Spielberg circuit.
You can pre-order your copy of F1 2014 on Amazon.com, the game is set to release on October 21st, 2014.
