Codemasters’ latest racing title should give PC gamers a lot to be excited about. Grid Autosport launched today on PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. Owners of the PC version are able to download a free optional content pack that upgrades the game to support 4k textures from day-one.
If you play on PC you’ll have access to the first piece of additional content the moment GRID Autosport launches; an HD texture pack that will increase the visual fidelity of the liveries and car exteriors. We wanted to make the pack optional as the 4K textures included will be a small hit on your performance, so instead of bumping up the minimum specs for everyone we thought we’d leave the decision in your own hands.
Codemasters giving away free graphics upgrades to PC players comes at a time when another major company is facing a huge backlash from customers over their graphics downgrades on PC.
In addition to the free texture pack for PC, Codemasters has planned out a number of additional content packs for players across all 3 platforms. Grid Autosport will include 3 themed mini-expansions and various car packs that add exactly what it sounds like.
