Interstellar Marines a sci-fi FPS available on Steam Early Access, has released its latest content update today. With the latest update, players now have access to a brand new co-op mode which allows friends to team up together to experience the game in a totally new way.

In the developer’s latest YouTube vlog, the team dives into just what co-op means for the game, and them personally.

Why is co-op important, and what does playing co-op mean? In this second video in this series we ask several team members what their favourite co-op memories are, and why they’re so important to them.

At its heart, Interstellar Marines is a Co-Op and Single-Player game, and we have been waiting a long time to be able to reveal our very first Co-Op experience to our players…

Our entire team is committed to delivering the most intense gameplay experience possible, so we can make this first Co-Op reveal something that immerses and impacts players. Immersion is something that many games strive for, but most fail to deliver, and as one of the central pillars of Interstellar Marines, we are going all-out to achieve that…

We want to ensure that when a player first tries the Co-Op experience, they do not know what to expect, or what’s going to come at them. It’s to keep this surprise that we’re holding back information on the actual gameplay – immersion is even greater if surprise is thrown in there as well!

Zero Point Software is also releasing work-in-progress videos on their YouTube channel that offer players a glimpse of what to expect with the new Co-Op gameplay. The next update is scheduled to release this August 2014.
