Score another one for Valve and the PC Master Race as another developer ports their game off of a dying service over to Steamworks. With the shutdown of Gamespy and the storied history of Games for Windows Live, this year has been a great one for Steamworks.

Full Bore

Published by Nkidu, Full Bore offers players a gigantic underground world and a fascinating story. We reviewed Full Bore recently and loved the game. Be warned though, you’ll probably spend many hours of your life digging through the world trying to figure out the difficult puzzles.

Commandos 3: Destination Berlin

Younger gamers might not be totally familiar with the Commandos series. Commandos first appeared in 1998 and spawned two sequels, the last of which was published in 2003. Commandos 3 was the first game in the series to feature a true 3d engine.

Multiwinia

Multiwinia was developed by Introversion, the geniuses behind Prison Architect. Multiwinia is best experienced when playing against a few friends in a frenzied dash to destroy the other teams.

Infested Planet

Infested Planet is a top down reverse tower defense style game that is sure to keep you entertained for hours. We reviewed Infested Planet a few months back and found the game to be insanely fun and challenging.

Postal 2

Postal 2 is a follow up to the notoriously controversial Postal, a game that raised a number of eyebrows back in the 1990s. The game’s developer, Running With Scissors, announced at E3 that Postal 2 would receive a brand new expansion 11 years after release.

Corporate Lifestyle Simulator

There’s not much to say about this game other than go to the Steam page and watch the video. Corporate Lifestyle Simulator is insane, and sometimes being insane feels so damn good. Get this if you like to kill stuff.

10,000,000

http://store.steampowered.com/app/227580/

$2.49

10000000 looks simple at first, but the complex and addicting gameplay is hard to resist. You’ll find yourself losing hours of sleep trying to get through the stages to complete objectives.

Chuck’s Challenge 3d

http://store.steampowered.com/app/262590/

$2.49

Our editor Nicole Oquendo reviewed Chuck’s Challege 3d and had an absolute blast with this spiritual successor to Chip’s Challenge. If you are in the mood for some puzzles, Nkidu once again delivers the goods with Chuck’s Challenge 3d.

Cities in Motion 2

http://store.steampowered.com/app/225420/

$9.99

Cities in Motion 2 expands upon the original in nearly every way possible. Featuring revamped graphics and tons of new features, Cities in Motion succeeds in creating an addictive transit management experience that transcends genres. Cities in Motion 2’s DLC packs are also on sale during these last few days of the sale. Consider grabbing a few as they add some fun options to the base game.

Insurgency

FPS fans looking for a realistic take on modern shooters have a lot to be excited about with Insurgency. If things like crosshairs, radar, and damage indicators make you sad, Insurgency is going to make you very happy. Expect a bit of a learning curve as you’ve probably gotten slow in your years of being coddled by other FPS games.

High Speed Mode – Speedrunner special! This mode allows you to speed up certain parts of the game (cutscenes, movies, battles and more) by up to five times the regular speed!

Battle Assistance – Great for final boss battles or for taking on Ultima/Omega Weapon again, this booster grants you an always full ATB gauge, always full HP as well as making Limit Breaks always available. It’s almost like cheating, except that your characters will still die if the damage they suffer from one hit is greater than their HP levels.

9999 – Pretty self-explanatory! Your normal attacks, certain limit breaks and some Guardian Force (G.F.) attacks will always deal the maximum 9,999 damage.

AP Max – Ability Points (AP) are used to teach your G.F. new abilities. This booster therefore allows your G.F. to max out their APs when you’re  on the world map. This should also help those of you attempting the No-Level challenge!

Magic and Gil Max – The magic booster, as before will give you 100 of each acquired magic spell, but this booster now also allows you to give yourself the maximum limit of Gil.

While hardcore players might find these new game boosters to be glorified cheat codes, High Speed Mode could prove useful and challenging for veteran players looking to go through the game again.

If you already own Final Fantasy VIII on Steam you should already have the new features with the latest update to the game. If you’d like to purchase Final Fantasy VIII, it’s currently on sale for 40% off during the Steam Summer Sale at http://store.steampowered.com/app/39150/

The Steam Summer Sale has just kicked into full gear. Today’s list of games include DayZ, Divinity Original Sin, Sins of a Solar Rebellion, and Democracy 3. As usually, flash sales will be going on throughout the week. Community votes appear to be slightly different this year with votes being cast for a set of 4 games, rather than just a single community choice game.

For each badge you craft during the sale, you’ll also gain in-game items for a variety of games in the Steam library. New to this sale is the addition of team based daily goals. Teams gain points by crafting badges, with the Summer Sale badge gaining the most points. 30 members of the winning team also win the 3 top selling games for that day, while the rest of the team wins additional cards.

You can get in on the action from June 19th – June 30th at SteamPowered.com

The announcement and script trickery got a bit more attention than he had anticipated. Valve reacted swiftly by issuing him a 1 year ban from the service, although it’s unclear at this time if they plan on reconsidering the ban once the dust settles. You can check up on the status of the ban by visiting the Is Timmy Still Banned website they he’s set up.

Looking over the developers Twitter feed, it seems pretty clear that he was set on making the vulnerability public. Security researchers often find themselves in similar situations in regard to public vs private disclosure of bugs. One could argue that Duda should have waited longer for the fix after informing Valve of the vulnerability, but who knows how long Valve has actually known about the bug.
