Developers Once Again Showing off PC Versions of Games at E3

It’s one of the industry’s worst kept secrets; When it’s possible, always show the PC version.

For a variety of reasons, PC versions tend to look and perform better. Additionally, demoing games for 15 hours straight on a console can lead to some heat issues. By going with the PC version, a developer can ensure a smooth show experience for all parties involved.

It should come as no surprise then that many of the cross-platform games shown at E3 2014 are secretly running on PC. One such example of this practice was Batman: Arkham Knight.

When asked about the platform in which the game was running, Rocksteady’s Dax Ginn confirmed (during Gamespot’s E3 livestream, head over at 4:37:00 mark):

“This is the PC build.”

So there you have it everyone. One of the most anticipated games that amazed pretty much all gamers during Sony’s conference was running on the PC (which means that the console builds may not look or run as sexy as this one).

PC Master Race members will likely remember Microsoft’s Nvidia  GTX powered Xbox One kiosk during last year’s E3. It’s nothing new, but for PC gamers, it’s always slightly pleasing to hear.

You can pre-order Batman: Arkham Knight on Amazon.com right now. The game is scheduled for a 2015 release.
