Morheim: City of the Damned has released a brand new content update, now available on Steam Early Access. With this week’s update, Mordheim: City of the Damned now features a fourth playable Warband, the Cult of the Possessed.

With three Warbands previously available to players – the Mercenaries of the Empire, the Skaven of Clan Eshin, and the Sisters of Sigmar – Mordheim: City of the Damned welcomes now the Cult of the Possessed, bringing the total of playable Warbands to four. New content and new features are of course planned for release in the near future, including extended Warband Management. Visit our Steam Page for a detailed road-map!

The Cult of the Possessed: Worshipers of the Dark Gods of Chaos, the Cult of the Possessed is a group of degenerates and mutants gathered together seeking to gain the favour of the Shadowlord by returning the Wyrdstone to the Pit, slaughtering all those they find trespassing on their master’s domain. They of course boast their own skills, such as Terror, a passive skill which has a chance to enforce a leadership test on any unit that passes his threat zone, or Boon of Chaos, which will buff up a squadmate, increasing physical, mental or martial statistics.

Reserves management: Extending the Warcamp, the ‘reserves’ management option allow you to choose which of your units will head in and out of combat, allowing you to strategically place units in the heart of battle depending on the match load out you might need for the fight.

New Skirmish mission objectives: New skirmish objectives are introduced in this new update: Marked for Death have your hunt for a specific enemy unit – Crush their Will is reminiscent of capture the flag, where you have to steal the enemy’s idol while protecting your own, and finally Wyrdstone Rush, where you will have to gather the precious green shards and secure them.

Mastertronic, along with indie developer Alan Zucconi have unveiled the contents of a brand new update coming to 0RBITALIS, currently available on Steam Early Access.

Assume the reins of mission control! Manage the path of a satellite in different celestial challenges and test your staying power against the biggest enemy in the universe: gravity. Now the challenge has got even more intense with the game-changing new Level Editor Update, which enables players to design their own solar system.

Channel your ingenuity to create your own planetary formations, embark on probing missions and scan planetary forms for the perfect launch time. Stay alert – you only get one chance to launch the satellite before you are left to the mercy of the gravitational pulls from other planets. When you’ve created your ideal space system, share your accomplishment with the Steam Universe!

0RBITALIS offers a unique game experience, blending simple but effective visual artistry with physics perfection.

Stuart Morton, Producer, Mastertronic, commented, “The ability for players to create their own levels in 0RBITALIS has been high up on player’s lists of most-wanted features, so it’s great to finally be able to launch the Level Editor feature. Alan Zucconi has created a stellar editor that will allow players to create their own universe of levels and share them easily using the power of Steam Workshop.”

Today we’re looking at I am Bread, a beautiful story of one slice of bread’s epic and emotional journey as it embarks upon a quest to become toasted. Created by Bossa Studios, the team behind Surgeon Simulator 2013, I am Bread was released on December 3rd, 2014, on Steam Early Access.

If you’ve previously experienced Bossa Studio’s Surgeon Simulator 2013, you can probably get a good idea of what exactly to expect with I am Bread. Crazy difficult controls, sandbox-lite style gameplay, and somewhat open ended objectives that can be completed in many different ways.

One way in which I am Bread departs from its predecessor is obviously in the setting. Gone are the surgical scrubs, dangerous hypodermic needles filled with psychoactive drugs, and a helplessly unlucky patient. Instead, players literally take control of a slice of bread on a journey to become a slice of toast.

Much like Surgeon Simulator 2013, I am Bread’s control scheme may take some getting used to. Even players who’ve put in a lot of hours in the virtual ER may find I am Bread’s controls to be seriously difficult. Where Surgeon Simulator 2013’s controls made some sense, as far as keys being mapped to move the same fingers in-game goes, I am Bread maps the 1234 keys to each corner of the slice, with QWER mapped to latch onto objects for the bread to hold.

For PC players, I am Bread represents an example of a game whose control scheme might be worse on a keyboard / mouse than with a console controller. Using an Xbox One controller may be the weapon of choice for players that wish to embark on this bread-based journey. Regardless of your chosen peripheral though, I am Bread is going to be a seriously challenging game. Because let’s face it, if this was an easy game it probably wouldn’t be much fun.

Toasting some bread sounds pretty simple, surely many of our American readers do just that every morning before work. In I am Bread though, making toast is a bit more difficult. Players begin their bread-journey safely tucked inside of a full loaf of the good stuff, slowly emerging from the nest with a mission to get toasted. A cleanliness meter quickly degrades if your bread becomes soiled from inedible objects that you’ve accidentally broken, or when it touches the ground. The 10 second rule is very much in full effect here. Players will be challenged both with reaching the toaster, and making it there in a somewhat edible state.

Since I am Bread is extremely open-ended, players can employ almost any tactic they want to make it across the room and into that glorious bread heating kitchen appliance. Some players may choose to fling themselves onto a skateboard by which to slowly skate across the room, while others may scale the walls as a bread-based daredevil in hopes of making it there with maximum cleanliness. Regardless of what path you choose to get toasted, dangers along the way will pose a serious threat to you achieving your goal of becoming a warm piece of toast.

If reading this comes off sounding as crazy as it is typing it, please understand that I am Bread is even crazier than this. While I’m certain that somewhere in the world somebody has probably walked into their kitchen, in a state of moderate to high intoxication, only to find a slice of bread wielding a knife trying to turn itself into toast, this is probably the first time those of us sound of mind can experience such a thing.

It’s in this insanity though that I am Bread is completely at home. There’s so much to explore, crash into, and accidentally discover, that I am Bread is one of those games that really doesn’t reveal itself to most players until many hours into doing basically the same thing over and over.

There’s really no way to quantify this experience as good, bad, or somewhere in between you see, as the overall game is going to be really based on what you make of it. Will you become a knife-wielding bread-based skateboarder? Or maybe flying in circles from the kitchen’s ceiling fan is more your style. Regardless of how you choose to play I am Bread, you’re probably going to go through a lot of emotions as you explore this deep bread simulation.

With I am Bread still in its Early Access phase on Steam, there’s plenty more to come with this unique game, which dare I say may be the world’s preeminent bread simulator. Bossa Studios is hard at work with future updates, what exactly they’ll entail though remains a mystery.

Rogue Factor’s turn-based tactical-RPG Mordheim: City of the Damned will receive its first content update on Thursday the 11th, having successfully launched its Early Access campaign to 90% “very positive user reviews” on Steam a few weeks ago. Based on the Games Workshop tabletop game, from Thursday Mordheim: City of the Damned will now feature The Sisters of Sigmar, and the first part of the Warcamp a hub from which you manage your warband and other activities with weapon and armour management.

Mordheim: City of the Damned launched with The Mercenaries of the Empire, and The Skaven of Clan Eshin, with the first content update slated for Thursday bringing that total to three. The Cult of the Posessed along with a host of other features will be released in the near future according to the Early Access road-map on the Steam page.
For a detailed explanation of exactly what’s coming in this first content update, see below:
The Sisters of Sigmar: A magic and melee based warband deemed as ‘heretics’ by the broader Cult of Sigmar because they miraculously survived the impact of the twin tailed comet. Completely devoted to their god, the Sisters of Sigmar seek to cleanse Mordheim of the many evils within the city walls, locking away the wyrdstone to ultimately contain its corruptive properties. Their skills include Healing Circle, an AOE healing spell. ‘Comet of Sigmar’, a magical attack that bypasses armour. And finally ‘Blessing of Speed’?, which increases movement of its target by 1 meter, and increases climb, leap, and jump-down checks by 10%.

The Warcamp: The Warcamp is a hub from where you’ll head into skirmishes and manage your warband. This feature will be updated incrementally, to include more activities throughout Early Access and to release.

Armour and weapon customisation: In this update, you will be able to change the armour for each unit in your warband with statistical changes. Visual changes will be coming later in the Early Access. You will also be able to change weapons, with two sets for each unit. Visual changes for weapons are included in this update.
